An amazing place to explore

One of my favourite places for photography and relaxing is Patterdale in Cumbria.

Its so quiet off season and the scenery is just stunning! From broad mountainous views with Lakes and Tarns and waterfalls, to colourful secluded walks through managed forests and open fells.

Key to a great location is somewhere to stay. Patterdale Hall Estate is not just another holiday home, its simply the best place to stay when you visit Ullswater. Why? well thats simple, Its a private estate with plenty of walks that unless you are staying on the Estate you may never find.

A key example would be the “Waterfall Wood Walk”, one of my favourites. A mixture of fast running water and managed woodland. I’ve lost count of the hours I’ve spent wandering up and down this stretch of the estate, and watched as the conservation work has stripped out invasive Rhododendrons that were choking out the natural ferns and mosses and the clearing of fallen trees and rock debris that hinder the natural flow of the Beck.

I’m so much in love with the Estate and the work they do to conserve their grounds, check out an example of this here, but I’m not in a position to volunteer on the Estate on a regular basis, so instead , I’m donating 50% of the profits made from the Lake District based artwork I produce, you can see the examples on the walls of the accommodation and in the office. Buy some artwork today and help the team to conserve the estate and fells.

Help Support the Conservation Work being carried out

Please buy one ore more of the fine-art prints, tagged here with “Patterdale Hall Estate Conservation”  and use Coupon Code “PHE” so I can donate 50% of the profits to the Estate.  This way we can do a little bit to help promote the good work being carried out by Jon and the teams of volunteers.

To help us even more, please share this information with your friends via Facebook, Instagram or word of mouth. Together we can help preserve a small part of the Lake District.

About the art work

To help keep the production costs down and the profit margin as high as possible, I am printing, mounting and framing these prints myself.

All artwork is printed on Canon Pro paper, and depending on the effect I’m trying to acheive I use a 210g/m2 Pro Premium Mattee paper, a 300g/m2 Pro Platinum paper or 260g/m2 Pro Luster paper.

All images are printed using genuine Canon Dye based inks and my monitors are calibrated to ensure that the image I’m working on is faithfully reproduced when I print it, or for very special orders send it to an outside company to print.

The print sizes currently offered are A4 and A3, but if you have a specific size or shape in mind please let me know as I’m flexible.

I currently use a basic MDF black frame with an acrylic sheet instead of glass. Each photo will be mounted on a off white frame inset.  As noted above this allows me to pass on a high donation to the Estate as it keeps production costs to a minimum.

I can offer more specialist printing such as a solid wood frame with integrated hanging, or printing direct onto Aluminium Dibond, Woodblock, acrylic blocks, Fomex boards just to name a few.  These I will add as I develop my website. However, the production costs do substantially increase and this is reflected in the sale price and impacts the profit margin and therefore the amount that I can donate to the estate.  If you are interested in a different professional quality piece of artwork, please do not hesitate to contact me.
