I have been asked what images I use to create a composition, well it all depends on what doing, so Im going to try for each image that I publish here to crate a before and after image that shows all the things I have combined into one final piece of artwork.
This one was created to enter a competition and is titled “Time and Tide”, its a grainy moody image with a limited number of colours but plenty of textures and lots of yummy elements for the eyes to wander over. The people arranging the competition, Shiftart.com, supplied a number of images and textures and set the them, in this case “Light”. The purpose of the competition was to create a composition and add light ensuring that the main subject and key elements were lite in the correct manner and from the correct direction. In addition to the resource supplied I added 3 images from Envarto Elements and then created a texture overlay using an Action from Envarto and a filter from Topaz Labs. The bubbles over the watch we created by cutting elements out of the action to create a bubble stream.
In total this took approximately 10+ hours of work split over a period of 5 days, an even now I look at it and want to make more changes, such as making the colour layer placed over the wire element in the light bulb a bit brighter. Anyway, take a look at the list of images and the finished piece of work and let me know what you think!
