Made to Create – Music
Some nights I just can’t switch off, my mind keeps whirling away even tho my body is begging for sleep. So the only thing I can do is focus on creating until the waves crahsing around in my head wear themselves out and Im finally ready to sleep.
The inspiration was buried in a flood of random thoughts and emotions it only surfaced when I started the creative process and in this case it is a combination of my rekindled love of how all things and actions are connected, photographs of places I love, the creativity and talent that is itching to burst out from inside each and every one of us and the frustration of watching people making choices that will affect them in ways they can’t see or don’t understand yet along with the frustration of having strayed from the path of my artistic journey and my own personal goals.
So in this piece I have combined a photograph I took of Whitby cathedral back in 2016, some rain clouds taken looking out of my window to create a background. This has then been combined with a licensed model image and octopus photograph from shutterstock. These have then been overlayed with 14 separate textures, including paper, rough wood, antique glass and paint splatters with a black and white split tone effect layered over the top to balance the colours and encourage the eye to focus on the models face and violin.
Art is my pressure valve and this piece “Made to create: music” is result of letting my creative mind loose and just going with the flow of emotions.
